Esbon, KS

Esbon is a small town in eastern Kansas, located about an hour east of Wichita. The population was just over 1,000 as of the 2010 census. Esbon is home to several businesses and industries, including a tire plant and a grain elevator. The town's economy is largely based on agriculture and real estate.

The first settlers arrived in Esbon in the early 1870s. At that time, the area was part of the Osage Nation. In 1875, the railroad came to Esbon and began to develop the town. By 1880, there were already several businesses in Esbon, including a hotel, a general store, and a blacksmith shop.

In 1906, Esbon became incorporated as a city. At that time, it had a population of about 600 people. The city's economy was based primarily on agriculture and real estate. In 1916, Esbon built its first schoolhouse; it now has two schools: one elementary school and one high school.

Today, Esbon is still an agricultural community; however, it has also developed into a small business center with several businesses related to real estate development and construction: builders/contractors (elevators), roofers/shinglesmiths (roofing), HVAC contractors (heating/cooling), window installers/repairers (windows), etc.). The city's economy is based largely on agriculture and real estate; however, there are also some businesses related to other industries such as manufacturing or transportation services
