Plainview, MN

Plainview is a small town located in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hennepin County.

The town was founded in 1856 and named for Plainview Township, which was named for its flat topography. The first settler in Plainview was Solomon Miller, who arrived in 1855. The town's economy was initially based on agriculture and milling; however, with the arrival of the railroad in 1881, it began to develop as a commercial center.

Today, Plainview is primarily a residential community with a small business district along Main Street. The town has several parks and recreational facilities including a swimming pool and tennis courts. There are also several churches and schools in the community.
