Northvale is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 10,827, reflecting an increase of 511 (+5.7%) from the 9,912 counted in the 2000 Census.
The township was formed on February 21, 1894 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature from portions of Hackensack Township and Saddle River Township. The boroughs of Northvale and Ridgefield were annexed to Northvale on January 1, 1951 and November 2, 1957 respectively.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Northvale had a total area of 3.853 square miles (10.542 km2), including 3.849 square miles (10.519 km2) of land and 0.043 square mile (0.118 km2) of water (0.14%).

It is bordered by Hackensack Township to the north-northwest; Saddle River Township to the east; Ridgefield Park to the south-southeast; Union City to the southwest; and Closter and Roseland municipalities in Hudson County to the west
