Tiffin is a city in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 21,898 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Lucas County. Tiffin is home to the University of Toledo and Stow- Munroe Falls State Park.

The first Europeans to visit what would become Tiffin were members of the French expedition under La Salle in 1669. The area was part of the Vincennes Purchase made by the United States government in 1783. The town site was laid out by Colonel Joshua Fry and named for General James Alexander Stewart, 1st Duke of Atholl, an officer in George Washington's army who died during the American Revolutionary War. In 1802, Tiffin became a village when it was incorporated from parts of Perrysburg Township and Madison Township.

In 1825, Tiffin became a city after it won election as one of two county seats over Mount Vernon on an 812-vote margin. A major fire destroyed much of downtown Tiffin on November 5th, 1835; however reconstruction began almost immediately and within six months most businesses had reopened. On January 6th, 1840, Ohio became a state with Tiffin as its capital due to its central location within the state ( Tiffin had previously served as territorial capital from 1796 until 1800). In 1851–1852 construction began on Ohio's first public school building which still stands today at Fourth and Main Streets (now occupied by City Hall). In 1865–1866 construction began on what would become Toledo's Union Station; this structure opened for business on October 1st, 1868 and served as both a railroad depot and temporary capitol while Toledo's permanent capitol was being constructed across town at Government Square (now Fifth Street Plaza).

During World War II more than 2200 men from Tiffin served in various branches of service including: Army Air Forces (AAF), Navy Seabees/Marines Corpsmen/Air Force Women Pilots/ Coast Guard Auxiliary; many are buried in local cemeteries including Arlington National Cemetery ( Arlington Annex), Fort Meigs National Cemetery ( Meigs Field Annex), Riverside National Cemetery (Riverside Annex) and Wright-Patterson AFB Military Memorial Park near Dayton where there is also a memorial dedicated to them. After World War II ended many veterans returned home only to find that their homes had been replaced by new housing developments which created problems such as increased traffic congestion and lack of available parking; these issues continue to this day although some progress has been made through initiatives such as development agreements between developers and local governments designed to mitigate these concerns while also preserving historic neighborhoods such as those located around downtown Tiffin which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (#NRHP #740027).

In 1971 Tiffany merged with neighboring Perrysburg Township forming a single city government which continues today under Mayor Dennis Kucera who took office in January 2014 following his election during November 2013; Kucera is currently serving his second term after winning re-election during November 2013 against opponent Tom McNamara who ran unopposed following Kucera's withdrawal from seeking another term due to health reasons..

Today there are several major employers located within city limits including: Owens Corning Corporation (formerly known as Fiberglas Corporation); 3M Company; Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company; Kroger Grocery Stores Inc.; Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc.; Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd.; FirstEnergy Corp.; Eaton Corporation; Honeywell International Inc.; Motorola Solutions Incorporated among others..

The University Of Toledo campus occupies much land east of downtown along with Stow- Munroe Falls State Park which lies just north of town off Interstate 75 making it easy for residents living close by to enjoy nature without having to travel far..

As you can see there are many things worth mentioning about real estate in Tiffin so I'll stop here before getting too long into details!
