China, TX is a small town located in the southern part of Williamson County. The population is just over 2,000 people and it has a median household income of just over $50,000. China, TX is known for its agricultural production and its proximity to Austin. The town was founded in 1875 and it was originally called Chinaville. In 1892, the town was renamed after the Chinese city of Shanghai.
