Livingston is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,812,[1] reflecting an increase of 1,527 (+14.7%) from the 9,906 counted in the 2000 Census.[4]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 2.653 square miles (6.902 km2), including 2.649 square miles (6.887 km2) of land and 0.043 square mile (0.118 km2) of water (0.11%).[3]

The borough borders Bloomfield Township to the north and east; Cranford to the south; and Union City to the west.[5][6][7] The Passaic River forms its eastern boundary with Cranford and flows through Livingston on its way to Newark Bay.[8][9]

The Census Bureau's 2006-2010 American Community Survey showed that (in 2010 inflation-adjusted dollars) median household income was $92,528 (+15% since 2000)[10] and there were 3.4% households below the poverty line (+/-1%).[11] Out of a total population of 10,812 people+, 5%+ were foreign born.[12]
