Garden City is a city located in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,812. The city is named for its founder and first mayor, George Washington Garden. Garden City is home to the University of South Alabama and the Baldwin County Courthouse.

The history of Garden City can be traced back to 1825 when George Washington Garden founded a small settlement on what is now known as Main Street. The settlement grew rapidly and by 1851 had a population of 1,500 people. In 1892, the town was incorporated as a city with a population of 5,000 people. In 1916, the University of South Alabama was established in Garden City and has since grown into one of the largest universities in Alabama with over 10,000 students enrolled annually.
