Haleyville, AL

Haleyville is a small town located in Baldwin County, Alabama. The population was 2,814 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Baldwin County. Haleyville is known for its cotton plantations and rolling hills.

The first settlers in Haleyville were members of the Creek Nation who arrived in 1818. The town was named for General James Haley, who fought in the War of 1812 and later served as Governor of Alabama. The town's economy was based on agriculture until the early 20th century, when it began to develop as a tourist destination due to its natural beauty and history.
