Toxey, AL

Toxey is a small town located in Marshall County, Alabama. The population was 1,902 at the 2010 census. Toxey is home to the Toxey Municipal Airport and the Toxey Community Center.

The history of Toxey can be traced back to 1828 when James W. Farrar settled on land that is now known as Farrar's Ridge. In 1892, a post office was established and named for Judge George M. Toxey who had served as Marshall County's circuit court judge from 1889-1892. The town of Toxey was incorporated in 1912 and had a population of only 350 people at the time.

Today, Toxey is a thriving community with many businesses and attractions available for residents and visitors alike. The main economic drivers are agriculture (due to the proximity to farmland) and tourism (due to the airport).
