Red Rock is a small town located in the Mohave County, Arizona. The population of Red Rock was 1,812 as of the 2010 census. The town is located on State Route 89, about 20 miles east of Kingman and 50 miles west of Las Vegas.
The history of Red Rock can be traced back to 1881 when it was founded as a railroad stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad. At that time, the area was known as "The Rocks". In 1903, the first real estate development in Red Rock took place with the construction of a hotel by J.D. Webster and A.G. Burnett. The town grew rapidly in popularity with tourists thanks to its dramatic red rock formations and natural hot springs which were popular for medicinal purposes at the time.
Today, Red Rock is still home to many tourist attractions including its famous red rock formations which are visible from many parts of town and its natural hot springs which are still used for medicinal purposes today.
