Snowflake, AZ

Snowflake is a small town located in Yavapai County, Arizona. The population was just over 1,000 as of the 2010 census. Snowflake is known for its natural beauty and its proximity to the Grand Canyon National Park. The town was founded in 1879 by a group of Mormon pioneers who were looking for a place to settle after crossing the Colorado River into Arizona Territory. Snowflake was originally called Mormon Station and was renamed Snow Flake in 1881 after a snowstorm that hit the area.
