The Stanfield area has a population of about 4,000 people and is bordered by Buckeye to the north, Queen Creek to the east, and Fountain Hills to the south. The Stanfield area was first settled in 1892 when a group of farmers moved into the area. The town was named after W.D. Stanfield, one of the original settlers. The town grew slowly at first, but began to grow rapidly in the 1920s when developers started building homes in the area. By 1930, there were enough homes built that Stanfield became an incorporated town.
