Fayetteville is a city located in the Northwest Arkansas metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 197,521. The city is home to the University of Arkansas and its athletic programs, as well as being a major center for business and commerce in Northwest Arkansas. Fayetteville is also known for its large number of historic homes and buildings, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
