Gravelly, AR

Gravelly is a small town located in the Ouachita Mountains of northwest Arkansas. The population was just over 1,000 as of the 2010 census. The town is known for its natural beauty and for being home to Gravelly Lake, one of the largest man-made lakes in Arkansas.

The history of Gravelly can be traced back to 1868, when the first settler arrived and began clearing land in what would become the town. By 1880, there were already several businesses operating in Gravelly, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a hotel. In 1892, the railroad came through Gravelly and helped spur growth in the community. By 1900, there were already more than 100 residents living in Gravelly.

Today, Gravelly is still a small town with many businesses operating locally. The main economic drivers for the community are tourism (due to Gravelly Lake) and agriculture (due to nearby farmland). There are also several small businesses that provide goods and services to residents of Gravelly.
