Mammoth Spring, AR

Mammoth Spring is a small town in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. The population was 2,914 at the 2010 census. Mammoth Spring is located in Boone County at (36.035827, -92.460901). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land.

The town's economy is based on tourism and real estate services. Mammoth Spring has several hotels and resorts, as well as numerous bed-and-breakfasts and vacation homes. The town also has a number of shops and restaurants catering to tourists.

The first European settlers arrived in Mammoth Spring in 1876. The community was named for Mammoth Cave National Park, which was then just being established nearby. The first post office opened in 1877 and was called "Mammoth". In 1881, the name was changed to " Mammoth Springs". The present name was adopted in 1907.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2,812 people, 1,062 households, and 711 families residing in the town. The population density was 948.5 people per square mile (365.1/km²).
