Sparkman, AR

Sparkman is a small town located in the Arkansas Delta region. The population of Sparkman was just over 2,000 in 2010. The town is situated on the banks of the Arkansas River and has been an agricultural center since the early days of settlement. Sparkman was first settled in 1881 and named for John W. Sparkman, a railroad official.

The economy of Sparkman is based largely on agriculture and related industries, including poultry processing and trucking. However, the town has seen significant growth in recent years as a result of its proximity to Little Rock and Memphis, as well as its excellent schools and infrastructure. There are currently more than 100 businesses in Sparkman, including several major corporations such as Tyson Foods and FedEx Corporation.
