Forbestown, CA

Forbestown is a small town located in the Sierra Nevada foothills of eastern California. The town was founded in 1892 by George Forbestown and his wife, Nellie. The town's name is derived from the surname of Forbestown's original owner, George Best.

Today, Forbestown is a quiet agricultural community with a population of just over 1,000 people. The town's economy is based largely on agriculture and tourism. There are several small businesses in the town, as well as a post office and two churches.

The main attraction in Forbestown is the historic downtown area which features several buildings that were built between 1890 and 1930. These include the Town Hall (built in 1890), the Masonic Lodge (built in 1897), and the County Courthouse (built in 1930). There are also several other historic buildings located throughout the downtown area, including a bank (built in 1907) and an ice cream shop (opened in 1922).

Forbestown is located just outside of Yosemite National Park which makes it an ideal location for tourists who want to visit both locations without having to travel too far. There are several hiking trails available near Forbestown which make it an excellent place to spend a day outdoors.
