Redwood City, CA

Redwood City is a city located in the San Francisco Bay Area, in northern California. The population was 66,724 at the 2010 census. Redwood City is home to several technology companies such as Google and Facebook. It also has a large concentration of high-tech businesses and start-ups.

The city's history dates back to 1853, when the first land grants were made in the area. The town was named after the redwoods that covered the area. In 1884, a railroad was built through Redwood City and it became an important transportation hub for lumber and agricultural products. In 1906, Redwood City became incorporated as a city. During World War II, the city's population increased by 50 percent due to military recruitment and construction of barracks for soldiers stationed in nearby San Francisco.

Today, Redwood City is an important center for technology and business in Northern California. The city has many parks and recreational facilities, including a golf course and a marina. There are also many restaurants and shopping areas in Redwood City.
