Rio Vista is a city located in Solano County, California. The population was 17,826 at the 2010 census. Rio Vista is located west of Fairfield and east of Vallejo.

The city was founded in 1868 by John Sutter and named after the vista of the Rio de la Plata River that can be seen from the original town site. Rio Vista is home to many wineries including Beringer, Concha y Toro, Diamond Mountain Vineyards, Dry Creek Valley Vineyards and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. The city also has a number of other businesses including restaurants such as Bottega Louie and Joe's Crab Shack as well as a movie theater called The Palace Theatre.
