San Bruno is a suburban city located in San Mateo County, California. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 27,055. It is situated at an elevation of 41 feet (12 m).

The city was incorporated in 1956 and grew rapidly as a bedroom community for San Francisco. The construction of Interstate 280 in the late 1960s and early 1970s facilitated this growth by providing easy access to the larger city.
