Watsonville, CA

Watsonville is a small town located in Santa Cruz County, California. The population was 14,829 at the 2010 census. It is known for its agricultural production and has been nicknamed "The Garden City of the West." Watsonville was founded in 1887 by John W. Watson, a Scottish immigrant who developed the first cannery in California. The town grew rapidly as a result of its proximity to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and because it had an excellent water supply from nearby Mount Hermon.
