Hasty is a small town located in Routt County, Colorado. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Hasty is located on U.S. Highway 285 about halfway between Steamboat Springs and Glenwood Springs.

The town of Hasty was founded in 1881 by J.D. and Lizzie (Cummings) Hasty, who were homesteaders from Kansas Territory. The town was named after the Hasty family of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which had donated land for the establishment of a post office in the area. The first store opened in 1882 and by 1886 there were enough people living in Hasty to form a school district with two schools: one for boys and one for girls. In 1890, a railroad station was built near the town center and this helped spur growth as businesses such as hotels and restaurants began to open up to serve travelers on the railroad line that ran through town. By 1900, there were enough people living in Hasty to form its own city government with a mayor and four council members; however, because of its small size (the population only reached 1,000 by 1920), the city government eventually dissolved back into Routt County government control after only three years of operation.

Today, much has changed since Hasty's early days as a small frontier settlement; however, one thing that has remained consistent throughout the years is the strong community spirit that exists among residents of this unique little town situated along U.S Highway 285 just north of Steamboat Springs/ Glenwood Springs metropolitan area."
