Rifle, CO

Rifle, Colorado is a town located in the eastern part of the state. The population was 2,821 at the 2010 census. It is situated on U.S. Route 6 and State Highway 9, about halfway between Denver and Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The town was founded in 1879 by settlers from Kansas Territory who were looking for a place to raise cattle and crops. The first post office opened in 1880 with the name of " Rifle." The town's name was changed to Rifle because it sounded more western-like than "Kansas City."

Today, Rifle is a small town that has retained its Western atmosphere while also incorporating some of the modern amenities that are available in larger cities. There are several businesses located within the town limits that provide services such as grocery stores, banks, restaurants, gas stations and hardware stores. Several large ranches are also located within Rifle boundaries including those belonging to Budweiser beer company and Anheuser-Busch InBev company respectively.

Real estate in Rifle is typically priced lower than other areas of Colorado due to its close proximity to both Denver and Cheyenne which make for easy access to both metropolitan areas. Additionally, many people who live in Rifle commute into either city for work which further drives down prices on housing units within the town limits.

There are a number of homes available for sale in Rifle ranging from single family dwellings up through large ranch style homes that can accommodate up to 10 or more bedrooms. Many properties also come with acreage attached which allows buyers to purchase land outright rather than having it leased or rented from someone else
