Marlborough is a town in Windham County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 10,827 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Windham County.
The town was first settled in 1764 by Ebenezer and John Brown. The area was originally part of Windsor Township but became a separate township in 1792. The town name honors John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough (1660-1722), an English general and statesman who served as Prime Minister from 1690 to 1698 and again from 1710 to 1711.
