Brooksville, FL

Brooksville is a small town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. The population was 10,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg- Clearwater, FL Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The city was founded in 1892 and named for General James Brooks, who fought in the American Civil War. Brooksville is home to several businesses and institutions of higher education including Hillsborough Community College (HCC), which has campuses in Brooksville and Plant City, as well as Stetson University College of Law.
