Forsyth, GA

Forsyth is a city located in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 10,851. Forsyth is a suburb of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Forsyth was founded in 1892 and incorporated as a town in 1912. The city's name honors General James J. Forsyth (1821-1896), who served as a general in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War and later as Governor of Georgia.

The economy of Forsyth is based on services and retail trade with manufacturing contributing only marginally to its overall output. The city has experienced significant growth over the past decade due to its proximity to Atlanta and its excellent schools system.
