Norman Park, GA

Norman Park is a city located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 10,876. Norman Park is home to many businesses and organizations including: The Norman Park Civic Association (NPCA), The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, and The Norman Park Foundation.

The city was founded in 1892 by J.C. Norman and his wife Sarah Elizabeth (née Hargrave). At the time of its founding, it was known as "Newtown". In 1907, the name was changed to " Norman Park" in honor of J.C.'s father-in-law, Dr. Wm. Farrar Norman Sr., who had donated land for the city's development.

The first business to open in Norman Park was a general store operated by J.C.'s brother-in-law A.W. Hargrave; this store served as a hub for commerce in the community until it closed in 1978 due to competition from larger stores located closer to town center.
