The Elmwood community is located in Cook County, Illinois. The population of Elmwood was 9,828 as of the 2010 census. Elmwood is a suburban community located within the city limits of Chicago.

Elmwood is bounded by Cicero to the north, Oak Park to the east, Berwyn to the south and west, and Harwood Heights to the northwest. The community is served by two expressways: I-290 to the north and I-94 to the south. Elmwood has a mix of single family homes, townhomes/condos, apartments/condominiums and commercial properties. There are also a number of parks in Elmwood including Oak Park Cemetery which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
