Naperville is a city in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The population was 116,521 at the 2010 census. Naperville is the most populous city in DuPage County and the third most populous city in Illinois. It is also the county seat of DuPage County. Naperville was founded by John J. Wright and incorporated on October 9, 1859. The city's name derives from the French word "napoléon", meaning "of Napoleon". Naperville is located at .
