Sheldon, IL

Sheldon is a small town located in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 12,853 as of the 2010 census. Sheldon is located approximately 25 miles south of downtown Chicago and is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1872 and named for Dr. Charles Sheldon, an early settler.
