Troy, IL

Troy, Illinois is a city located in the south central region of the United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 104,521. Troy is the county seat of Champaign County and is home to two universities: Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and Northern Illinois University at DeKalb.

The city's economy is based on education, health care, government services and manufacturing. Manufacturing includes food processing, automotive parts and equipment, chemicals and plastics. The city has experienced steady growth since 2000 due to its proximity to major metropolitan areas ( Chicago and St Louis) as well as its quality of life factors (low crime rate, excellent schools).
