Urbana, IL

Urbana is a city located in Champaign County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 25,929. Urbana is the county seat of Champaign County.

The first European settlement in what would become Urbana was made in 1819 by Jesse B. Thomas and his family. The town was originally called "Big Grove", but changed its name to " Urbana" in 1825 after the University of Illinois was founded in nearby Champaign. The University has played an important role in the development of Urbana since its establishment; it is home to many notable buildings and facilities, including Memorial Stadium and Stephens Hall.

Today, Urbana is a thriving community with a variety of businesses and attractions that make it a popular destination for residents and visitors alike. The city's main thoroughfare, University Avenue, features many shops and restaurants as well as several museums and galleries. Other major attractions include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum (which houses one of the world's largest collections of Lincoln memorabilia), Willard Park Zoo, and Pioneer Village Museum (which features exhibits on early American life).

Real estate in Urbana is highly sought-after due to its close proximity to both Champaign- Urbana and Chicago metropolitan areas.
