Washington, IN

Washington is a small town located in southwestern Indiana. The population was just over 2,000 people in the 2010 census. Washington is a farming community that has seen its share of changes over the years. The town was founded in 1839 and it was originally called " Washington Mills." In 1853, the town was renamed " Washington" after President James K. Polk's home state of Tennessee. Washington is located on the Ohio River and it is known for its fertile soil and rolling hills.
