Brighton, IA

Brighton is a small town located in southeastern Iowa. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. Brighton is located at 41°5′14″N 91°24′36″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.4 km²), all of it land.

The town's economy is based largely on agriculture and real estate. The most significant businesses in Brighton are the Brighton General Store, which sells groceries and hardware; the Brighton Inn, which offers lodging; and the Brighton Auto Sales & Service dealership, which sells cars and trucks. There are also several small businesses that provide services to residents of the town, such as a gas station, a bakery, and a hair salon.

The primary source of income for residents of Brighton is real estate sales. The town has experienced an increase in home prices over the past few years due to its location close to major metropolitan areas such as Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. In addition to home sales, other forms of real estate investment include rental properties and commercial property investments such as warehouses and retail spaces.
