Eldridge, IA

Eldridge is a small town located in Johnson County, Iowa. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. Eldridge is a farming community that has seen its share of changes over the years. In 1884, Eldridge was founded by James and Mary Eldridge. The town was named after their home county in England. At its peak, Eldridge had a population of more than 2,000 people. However, due to the Great Depression and other factors, the population dwindled to just over 1,000 people by 2000.

Today, Eldridge is a thriving community with many businesses and attractions that draw visitors from around the region and beyond. The main economic drivers are agriculture (mainly corn and soybeans) and manufacturing (primarily wind turbines). There are also several small businesses that provide services to residents and tourists alike.

Real estate in Eldridge is dominated by farmland and rural homesites. There is limited commercial development available for purchase or lease within the town limits.
