Lake View is a small town located in Polk County, Iowa. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. Lake View is home to many businesses and attractions that make it a desirable place to live and work.

The town of Lake View was founded in 1868 by George W. Pierce and James A. Fenton. The town was named for its location on the lake that sits just outside of town limits. At its peak, the population of Lake View was over 2,000 people. However, due to the decline in manufacturing and agriculture in Iowa during the late 20th century, the population of Lake View has slowly decreased over time to its current level of 1,853 people.
