Emmett, KS

Emmett is a small town in Butler County, Kansas. The population was 1,527 at the 2010 census. Emmett is located in the Flint Hills region of Kansas and is home to several farms and ranches. The town was founded in 1887 and named for Emmet Brown, a railroad official.

The economy of Emmett is based largely on agriculture and ranching. The town has two grocery stores, a bank, three churches, two schools (one K-12 and one post-secondary), a hospital, several businesses including a gas station/convenience store/grocery store/liquor store, an auto dealership, and several small businesses including a bakery and an ice cream shop. There are also several restaurants in the town including the local steakhouse chain Joe's Bar-B-Q which has been in operation since 1957.

Homes range from single family homes to large ranch style properties. There are also many apartments available for rent in the town which can accommodate up to 150 people.
