Harveyville is a small town located in Osage County, Kansas. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Harveyville is home to the Harveyville Speedway and the Harveyville Municipal Airport.

The town was founded in 1881 by James Harvey and his brother-in-law, J.D. Browning. The town was named for James' father-in-law, Harvey Bixby, who had donated land for the town's establishment. The first business in Harveyville was a general store operated by J.D. Browning and James Harvey. In 1883, the first hotel opened in Harveyville - the Osage House Hotel - which was later renamed the Browning Hotel after J.D.'s son, Harry Browning took over management of the hotel.

In 1889, a post office was established in Harveyville and it remained open until 1965 when it closed due to budget cuts made by the U S Postal Service . In 1895, a bank opened in Harveyville - Kansas State Bank - which remains open today as First National Bank of Harveyville .
