Niotaze, KS

Niotaze is a small town located in Sedgwick County, Kansas. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Niotaze is home to the Niotaze Golf Course and the Niotaze Community Center.

The history of real estate in Niotaze can be traced back to 1887 when a land office was established in the town. The first recorded sale of property occurred on October 10th of that year when James H. Brown sold 160 acres to A.J. Hoskins for $1,000. In 1889, J.W. Fenton purchased 320 acres from James Brown for $4,000 and began developing what would become known as the Fenton Addition to the town.

In 1906, Wm Dickson purchased 640 acres from JW Fenton and began developing what would become known as Dickson Addition to the town which included construction of several homes including one designed by noted architect Frank Lloyd Wright who lived in Wichita at the time but visited often on weekends to inspect his handiwork (the home still stands today).

In 1916, C E White purchased 640 acres from Wm Dickson and began developing what would become known as White Addition which also included construction of several homes including one designed by noted architect George Washington Smith who also resided in Wichita at the time but visited often on weekends to inspect his handiwork (the home still stands today).

In 1927, A E Kline purchased 640 acres from C E White and began developing what would become known as Kline Addition which also included construction of several homes including one designed by noted architect Howard Van Doren Shaw who also resided in Wichita at the time but visited often on weekends to inspect his handiwork (the home still stands today).

In 1951, R L Davis acquired 640 acres from A E Kline and began developing what would become known as Davis Addition which also included construction of several homes including one designed by noted architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., who was then living in Phoenix Arizona but frequently came down for weekend inspections (the home still stands today).
