Osage City is a small town located in Osage County, Kansas. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. Osage City is home to the Osage County Courthouse and the Osage County Historical Museum.

The first settlers in Osage City were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who arrived in 1871. The town was officially founded in 1872 and was named for the Osages, a Native American tribe that once inhabited the area. The railroad came to Osage City in 1873 and helped spur growth in the town. By 1900, there were more than 1,000 residents living in Osage City.

Today, much of what makes Osage City unique remains unchanged since its early days as a small farming community. The downtown area features several historic buildings including the courthouse and museum which are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There are also several businesses located within walking distance of each other that have been operating for many years.
