Otis, KS

Otis is a small town in Douglas County, Kansas, located about 20 miles northeast of Lawrence. The population was 1,854 at the 2010 census. Otis was founded in 1872 and named for Judge Otis Browning of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.

The town's economy is based on agriculture and retail sales. There are two major grocery stores, several restaurants, a bank, and several other businesses. Otis is also home to the Otis Country Club which has a nine-hole golf course and an 18-hole golf course.
