Scott City, KS

Scott City is a small town located in Scott County, Kansas. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Scott County.

The town was founded in 1873 and named for General Winfield Scott. The first post office opened in 1874. The town's economy was based on agriculture until the early 20th century, when it became a center for livestock and poultry production. In recent years, the economy has diversified with businesses in health care, tourism, and technology.
