Paducah, KY

Paducah is a city located in McCracken County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 10,811 at the 2010 census. Paducah is the county seat of McCracken County.

Paducah was founded in 1798 by James Paducah and named for his friend, the French ambassador to England, Jean-Baptiste du Val-de-Coucy. Paducah was incorporated as a town in 1819 and as a city in 1892. It is one of Kentucky's oldest cities and its downtown district has been designated a National Historic Landmark.

The city's economy is based on tourism, manufacturing (especially aerospace), and healthcare services. Major employers include Owens-Illinois Inc., Humana Inc., Cardinal Health Inc., Express Scripts Holding Co., Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center and Baptist Health Southwestern Kentucky Hospital System.
