New Roads is a small town located in Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana. The population of New Roads was 2,814 as of the 2010 census. The town is located on U.S. Highway 190, approximately 25 miles north of Alexandria and 50 miles south of Shreveport.

The land that now comprises New Roads was first settled in the early 1800s by pioneers who were drawn to its fertile soil and mild climate. The town's name commemorates General Robert E. Lee's victory over Union forces at the Battle of New Orleans in 1815. In 1871, a post office was established in what was then known as "Leeville." In 1882, the town was renamed " New Roads" after a railroad line was built through the area and attracted new settlers.

Today, New Roads is a small community with a variety of businesses and services available to its residents.
