Pine Grove, LA

Pine Grove is a small town located in Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana. The population of Pine Grove was 2,814 as of the 2010 census. The town is located in the northeast corner of the parish and is bordered by Marksville to the north, West Monroe to the east, and Winnfield to the south.

The history of Pine Grove can be traced back to 1853 when Major John Sibley established a plantation there. The town began to grow in importance after it was connected by railroad to Alexandria in 1881. Pine Grove became an important cotton production center during the early part of the 20th century. However, due to competition from other cotton-producing areas in Louisiana and abroad, cotton production has declined significantly over the past few decades. Today, most residents are employed in either agriculture or service industries.
