Indian Head, MD

Indian Head is a small town located in Harford County, Maryland. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. Indian Head is home to many businesses and attractions that make it a popular tourist destination.

The town of Indian Head was founded in 1727 by the Maryland General Assembly as a trading post on the Patapsco River. The town's name comes from the Native American tribe known as the Piscataway who were living along the river at that time. In 1777, during the American Revolution, British forces burned down most of the town. However, it was rebuilt and became an important shipping port for tobacco and other products.

Today, Indian Head is a thriving community with many businesses and attractions that draw tourists from around the region and beyond. Some of these businesses include a casino, golf course, marina, restaurants, shops and galleries. The town also has several historic sites including Fort Smallwood State Park and Stony Point Fort National Historic Site which are both open to visitors year-round.
