Lexington Park, MD

Lexington Park is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 10,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria metropolitan area.

The town was founded in 1851 as a stop on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Lexington Park quickly became a prosperous suburb of Washington, D.C., with many stately homes built by wealthy railroad executives and their families. In the early 20th century, Lexington Park became known for its horse racing and gambling establishments; it was also home to several prestigious private schools.

Today, Lexington Park is a suburban community that continues to grow rapidly due to its excellent schools and proximity to downtown Washington, D.C., as well as other major metropolitan areas in Maryland and Virginia. The town has undergone extensive redevelopment in recent years with new housing developments and shopping centers being constructed near the town center.
