Rising Sun, MD

Rising Sun is a small town located in Howard County, Maryland. The population of Rising Sun was 10,827 as of the 2010 census. It is a suburb of Washington, D.C., and is part of the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area.

The history of real estate in Rising Sun dates back to the early 1800s when farmers began to settle in the area. The town's first commercial center was located on Main Street and featured a general store, post office, blacksmith shop, and several other businesses. In 1892, the town's first real estate development – known as "The Village" – was constructed on land that had been donated by local businessmen. The Village consisted of thirty-six homes and boasted a private golf course and tennis court.

Today, Rising Sun is home to numerous shopping centers, restaurants, banks, and other businesses. The town's main commercial strip features several large retail stores including Walmart Supercenter and Target Corporation. There are also several smaller businesses that cater to residents' needs such as hair salons, car dealerships, pharmacies, grocery stores etc..

Real estate in Rising Sun has always been popular due to its close proximity to Washington D.C., excellent schools (including two private colleges), low crime rates (ranked #1 out of all Howard County towns), and its moderate climate (which makes it an ideal place to live year-round).
