Suitland, MD

Suitland, Maryland is a suburb of Washington, D.C. and has a population of about 25,000 people. The community was founded in the early 1900s and was originally known as " Suitland Heights." Suitland is located just north of the Capital Beltway and has easy access to both Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Real estate in Suitland is typically expensive due to its proximity to both major cities as well as its excellent schools. In recent years, however, prices have decreased somewhat due to increased competition from other suburbs in Montgomery County as well as from neighboring jurisdictions in Prince George's County and Northern Virginia. There are a number of upscale neighborhoods such as The Villages at Greenbelt (which includes golf courses), Woodlawn Park (a large park with many amenities), and Capitol Hill (which includes restaurants, nightlife, shopping and more). There are also a number of middle-class neighborhoods such as Riverdale Park (with good schools) and Glenarden (with good access to public transportation).
