West River is a small town located in Harford County, Maryland. The population of West River was 2,827 as of the 2010 census. The median household income in West River was $101,711 in 2009.

The history of West River can be traced back to the early 1800s when settlers began to arrive and farm the land. In 1851, a post office was established and the town began to grow. By 1880, there were enough people living in West River to form a school district.
